Private Adoption

We work with parents who have identified a child that they would like to adopt. We can help you secure the required home study as well as prepare the adoption paperwork. If you have worked with an overseas adoption agency, we can help you complete the court process to finalize the adoption once your child arrives home.

Step-Parent Adoption

Because the step-parent is already living with the child, a step-parent adoption generally does not require a home study. It does require, however, that the non-custodial, biological parent relinquish his or her parental rights in order for the adoption to be completed. We handle that process as well as all court-required paperwork.

The step-parent adoption process is not difficult, yet it brings so many benefits and rights to the child and the parent: the right to inherit, to have a parent who can make legal decisions, and the benefit of belonging.

Grandparent or Relative Adoption

Grandparent, aunts and uncles, even older siblings often step in to provide a stable home after parents have passed away or when parents are unable to parent because of illness, incapacity or incarceration. As with other types of independent adoptions, both parents must give up their parental rights in order for the adoption to be completed. Our adoption lawyers will help you with that process.
